अब ये आलम है कि ग़म को भी ख़बर होती नहीं।
अश्क बह जाते हैं लेकिन आँख तर होती नहीं।
Such is the srate that sorrow doesn't know.
Eyes do not get wet but tears still flow.
बहुत काम लेते हैं दर्द-ए-जिगर से।
कहीं ज़िन्दगी को क़रार आ न जाए!
A lot does pain of heart police. Let not my life get any peace!
वक़्त करता है परवरिश बरसों।
हादसा एक दम नहीं होता !
For years, it is fostered by the time.
Calamity does not suddenly chime!
तज़ाद-ए-जज़्बात में ये नाज़ुक मक़ाम आया तो क्या करोगे ?
मैं रो रहा हूँ तुम हँस रहे हो, मैं मुस्कुराया तो क्या करोगे ?
In contradictory emotions if there comes a delicate state, what 'll you do ?
I am crying, you are laughing, if I start smiling, then what will you do ?
रास्ता है कि कटता जाता है।
फ़ासला है कि कम नहीं होता।
Route - cutting is produced.
But distance isn't reduced.
बहुत काम लेते हैं दर्द- ए- जिगर से।
कहीं ज़िन्दगी को क़रार आ न जाए।
With pain of heart many works happen.
If life gets comfort, well what then?
