रह गई थी आरज़ू सो वो भी आ कर ले गया
He had snatched from the eyes, my sleep.
Desires were left, he took it also for keep.
दिन निकलते ही वो ख़्वाबों के जज़ीरे क्या हुए
सुब्ह का सूरज मिरी आँखें चुरा कर ले गया
What happened to islands of dream with morn'?
Morning sun stole my eyes from the deep..
दूर से देखो तो ये दरिया है पानी की लकीर
मौज में आया तो जंगल भी बहा कर ले गया
If viewsd from a distance, stream is a water line.
In frenzy, it carried away the jungle so deep.
उस ने तो इन मोतियों पर ख़ाक भी डाली नहीं
आँख की थाली में दिल आँसू सजा कर ले गया
He didn't even sprinkle dust on these pearls.
In the eye plate, heart assorted tears for keep.
ग़ौर से देखा तो दिल की ख़ाक तक बाक़ी न थी
मुझ को दा'वा था कि मैं सब कुछ बचा कर ले गया
When I saw, not a trace of heart was there.
I held the notion that all was within my keep.
