जहाँ है तेरे लिए तू नहीं जहाँ के लिए।
Neither you are for earth nor for sky are you.
You aren't meant for the world, world is for you.
ये अक़्ल-ओ-दिल हैं शरर शोला-ए-मोहब्बत के।
वो ख़ार-ओ-ख़स के लिए है ये नीस्ताँ के लिए।
Mind and heart are sparks from chunk of love-fire.
That's for thorns' n husk, this for high green grass too.
मक़ाम-ए-परवरिश-ए-आह-ओ-लाला है ये चमन।
न सैर-ए-गुल के लिए है न आशियाँ के लिए।
Garden is for growth of sighs 'n spotted flowers.
It's neither to visit flowers, nor for residence too.
निगह बुलंद, सुख़न दिलनवाज़, जाँ पुर-सोज़।
यही है रख़्त-ए-सफ़र मीर-ए-कारवाँ के लिए।
High sight, talks bright and a heart on fire.
It's all that needs be kept by caravan' s leader too.
निशान-ए-राह दिखाते थे जो सितारों को।
तरस गए हैं किसी मर्द-ए-राह-दाँ के लिए।
Those who could show path even to stars.
Now long for some man to guide route to you.
ज़रा सी बात थी अंदेशा-ए-ग़म ने उसे।
बढ़ा दिया है फ़क़त ज़ेब-ए-दास्ताँ के लिए।
It was a little thing but the suspects of grief.
