ग़ज़ल ने सीखे हैं, अंदाज़ सब तुम्हारी तरह।
While eyes talk, mum are lips, just like you.
Ghazal has learnt all the tricks, just like you.
जो प्यास तेज़ हो, तो रेत भी है चादरे आब।
दिखाई दूर से देते हैं, सब तुम्हारी तरह।
With intense thirst, sand is a sheet of water.
From a distance, all look just like you.
बुला रहा है ज़माना, मगर तरसता हूँ।
कोई पुकारे मुझे, बेसबब तुम्हारी तरह।
The world is calling but I still yearn.
To be called without reason, just like you.
हवा की तरह मैं बेताब हूँ कि शाख़े गुलाब।
लहकती है मेरी आहट पे अब तुम्हारी तरह।
I am impatient as a rose twig swings in air.
Listening to my foot steps just like you.
मिसाले वक़्त मैं तस्वीरे सुब्हो शाम हूँ अब।
मिरे वजूद पे छाई है शब तुम्हारी तरह।
I am frame of time, it's morn' and eve'.
The night covers my entity, just like you.
सुनाते हैं मुझे, ख़्वाबों की दास्ताँ अक्सर।
कहानियों के पुर असरार लब, तुम्हारी तरह।
Often they recite to me tales of dreams.
Mysterious lips of stories, just like you.
