SALEEM FARAZ.. GHAZAL.. ABHI MAUJOOD THI LEKIN ABHI GUM HO GAYI HAI.....

अभी मौजूद थी लेकिन अभी गुम हो गई है 

न जाने किस जहाँ में ज़िंदगी गुम हो गई है 

It was present, but is now lost. 

In which world is the life lost? 

मिरे हमराह क्यूँ वो शख़्स चलना चाहता है 

सफ़र के जोश में क्या आगही गुम हो गई है 

Why is he willing to come with me? 

In travel frenzy, is the know how lost? 

सभी ख़ुश हैं कि सारे गुम-शुदा फिर मिल गए हैं 

मुझे ग़म है कि अब तेरी कमी गुम हो गई है 

All are happy that the lost have met. 

I am sad  that your absence is lost. 

मिरे होंटों को दरिया ने किया सैराब लेकिन 

हयात-अफ़रोज़ दिल की तिश्नगी गुम हो गई है 

Though stream moistened my lips,  

The thirst of lively heart  is lost. 

मैं उस से मुद्दतों के बा'द दोबारा दोबारा मिला हूँ 

ख़ुशी तो है मगर वारफ़्तगी गुम हो गई है 

I have met her after a long time. 

I'm happy but senselessness is lost. 

ये किन तिश्ना-लबों की फ़ौज गुज़री है इधर से 

कहीं कुछ कम कहीं पूरी नदी गुम हो गई है 

Which army of thirsty lot has gone? 

The stream in part or whole is lost. 

हमेशा जो मुझे इज़्न-ए-सुख़न देती रही थी 

हुजूम-ए-शोर में वो ख़ामुशी गुम हो गई है 

What  granted me liberty to write? 

In this noise, that silence is lost. 

मैं उस की याद से बस एक पल को गुम हुआ था 

मगर लगता है जैसे इक सदी गुम हो गई है 

In her memory,  a moment I was lost. 

But it appears that a century is lost. 

ब-तौर-ए-रस्म ही कार-ए-जुनूँ बाक़ी है मुझ में 

वगर्ना दश्त से वाबस्तगी गुम हो गई है 

Work is left in me now as a custom. 

Though affinity with the world is lost. 

'सलीम' उस में ज़ियादा फ़र्क़ तो अब भी नहीं है 

बस इतना है कि थोड़ी सादगी गुम हो गई है 

O'Saleem' it' isn't different even now

Only a little of her simplicity is lost.
