नई ज़मीन नया आसमाँ नहीं मिलता।
The world I am searching, is not found.
New earth and new sky are not found.
नई ज़मीन नया आसमाँ भी मिल जाए।
नए बशर का कहीं कुछ निशाँ नहीं मिलता।
Even if new earth and sky are there.
New man, even in trace is not found.
वो तेग़ मिल गई जिस से हुआ है क़त्ल मिरा।
किसी के हाथ का उस पर निशाँ नहीं मिलता।
The sword that's killed me is on show.
But on it, a hand print is not found.
वो मेरा गाँव है वो मेरे गाँव के चूल्हे।
कि जिन में शोले तो शोले धुँआ नहीं मिलता।
This is my village and it's ovens.
Cinders aside, even smoke is not found.
जो इक ख़ुदा नहीं मिलता तो इतना मातम क्यूँ।
यहाँ तो कोई मिरा हम-ज़ुबाँ नहीं मिलता।
If God isn't met with, why this gloom.
One who speaks my language is not found.
खड़ा हूँ कब से मैं चेहरों के एक जंगल में। तुम्हारे चेहरे का कुछ भी यहाँ नहीं मिलता।
In a jungle of faces I stand since long.
Here, any trace of your face is not found.
