हँसने नहीं देता कभी रोने नहीं देता 

ये दिल तो कोई काम भी होने नहीं देता 

It never  allows me to laugh or weep. 

This heart doesn't allow any work upkeep. 

तुम माँग रहे हो मिरे दिल से मिरी ख़्वाहिश 

बच्चा तो कभी अपने खिलौने नहीं देता 

You are asking for desires from my heart. 

A child never gives it's toys so cheap. 

मैं आप उठाता हूँ शब-ओ-रोज़ की ज़िल्लत 

ये बोझ किसी और को ढोने नहीं देता 

I bear myself troubles of  night and day. 

I allow none else to carry this heap. 

वो कौन है उस से तो मैं वाक़िफ़ भी नहीं हूँ 

जो मुझ को किसी और का होने नहीं देता 

I am not even aware of his identity. 

Who bars me to be within any other 's reach.
