हँसने से हो सुकून न रोने से कल पड़े
At least someone 's life be disturbed this way.
Neither solace on laughing, nor peace crying away.
जिस तरह हँस रहा हूँ मैं पी पी के गर्म अश्क
यूँ दूसरा हँसे तो कलेजा निकल पड़े
The way I am laughing while sipping the hot tears.
Heart would burst, if another one laughed this way.
इक तुम कि तुम को फ़िक्र-ए-नशेब-ओ-फ़राज़ है
इक हम कि चल पड़े तो बहर-हाल चल पड़े
You are worried whether the path is shallow or high.
I have determined to move and thus moved any way.
साक़ी सभी को है ग़म-ए-तिश्ना-लबी मगर
मय है उसी की नाम पे जिस के उबल पड़े
O wine girl ! All bear sorrow being thirst-lipped.
But wine belongs to one, in whose name it flew away.
मुद्दत के बा'द उस ने जो की लुत्फ़ की निगाह
जी ख़ुश तो हो गया मगर आँसू निकल पड़े
Since long, when she cast a favourable glance.
It surely pleased the heart but the tears flew away.
