आगाह अपनी मौत से कोई बशर नहीं। 

सामान सौ बरस का है, पल की ख़बर नहीं। 

No human is aware of the time of his death.

There's centurion set up, unsure of next breath.

ये ज़िन्दगी औ' मौत का इतना है फ़लसफ़ा।

इक साँस आई आस बँधी, रुक गई

कि बस।

You die if not, there's hope with each breath.

मौत का इंतजार बाक़ी है।

आप का इंतजार था, न रहा।

For death, I still await.

For you now, I don't wait.

मौत का एक दिन मुकर्रर है। 

नींद क्यों रात भर नहीं आती?

The day of death is fixed tight. 

Why can't I sleep whole night?

ज़िन्दगी से तो ख़ैर शिकवा था। 

मुद्दतों मौत ने भी तरसाया ! 

Lamenting for life was  expected 'n long. 

Even for death I 've longed since long. 

मौत सुंदर है ज़िंदगी की सी। 

जो भी मिलती है फिर नहीं मिलती!
