लब वो लब है जो न शर्मिंदा-ए-फ़रियाद रहे।
Heart is heart who can bear and be sad to say.
Lips are lips which are not ashamed to pray.
ख़ुशनवाई का सबक़ मैंने क़फ़स में सीखा।
क्या कहूँ और सलामत मेरा सैयाद रहे।
I learnt lesson of a pleasant tongue in cage.
May my captor survive, what else can I say.
मुझ को मिल जाए चहकने के लिए शाख़ मेरी।
कौन कहता है कि गुलशन में न सैयाद रहे।
That I can possess my branch to sing.
Who says that in garden, captor can't stay ?
जज़्बा-ए-क़ौम से ख़ाली न हो सौदा-ए-शबाब।
वो जवानी है जो इस शौक़ में बरबाद रहे।
Let youth be intoxicated with love for man.
Let this craze in youth survive, come what may.
