उस बस्ती के बाज़ारों में रोज़ कहें अफ़्साने लोग
We are frenetic people, we know not what's the tale.
In the markets of that area, people daily recite tale.
यादों से बचना मुश्किल है उन को कैसे समझाएँ
हिज्र के इस सहरा तक हम को आते हैं समझाने लोग
It's difficult to evade memories,how can I tell her.
Upto Sahara of departure, people come to convince tale.
कौन ये जाने दीवाने पर कैसी सख़्त गुज़रती है
आपस में कुछ कह कर हँसते हैं जाने पहचाने लोग
What the frenetic suffer, people do not understand.
When well known people talk within themselves in gale.
फिर सहरा से डर लगता है फिर शहरों की याद आई
फिर शायद आने वाले हैं ज़ंजीरें पहनाने लोग
Again I am afraid of Sahara, city comes to mind.
People probably are coming to take me in to jail.
हम तो दिल की वीरानी भी दिखलाते शरमाते हैं
हम को दिखलाने आते हैं ज़ेहनों के वीराने लोग
We are even ashamed to exhibit solitude of heart.
People show us solitude
of the minds in it's trail.
उस महफ़िल में प्यास की इज़्ज़त करने वाला होगा कौन
जिस महफ़िल में तोड़ रहे हों आँखों से पैमाने लोग
Who'll register the regard of thirst in that commune?
Where people break wine cups with eyes without fail.
