उन से बिछड़ी तो कोई आँख में आँसू भी नहीं 

The life was very proud of  being  friends with them. 

When it parted there was

 no tear in an eye to stem. 

नज़र न आए तो सौ वहम दिल में आते हैं 

वो एक शख़्स जो अक्सर दिखाई देता है 

There are doubts in mind

 when he is out of sight. 

That person who is frequently been within sight. 

जो न इक बार भी चलते हुए मुड़ के देखें 

ऐसी मग़रूर तमन्नाओं का पीछा न करो 

One who won't look back

 even once to see. 

Don't follow such proud desires, let these flee.

 

जाते मौसम ने जिन्हें छोड़ दिया है तन्हा 

मुझ में उन टूटते पत्तों की झलक है कितनी 

Those which have been left by passing season desolate. 

How much glimpse of such breaking leaves is on plate? 

सुर्ख़ियाँ अख़बार की गलियों में ग़ुल करती रहीं 

लोग अपने बंद कमरों में पड़े सोते रहे 

Newspaper headlines were roaring in the street. 

People kept sleeping in 

closed rooms so neat. 

जला है दिल या कोई घर ये देखना लोगो 

हवाएँ फिरती हैं चारों तरफ़ धुआँ ले कर 

Whether it's heart or home on fire? 

Winds circulate smoke around, 

entire. 

गुलाबों के होंटों पे लब रख रहा हूँ 

उसे देर तक सोचना चाहता हूँ 

Placing my lips on the lips

of rose.
